Corkers Restaurant in Poole with Cafe Bar and Guest Rooms is an outstanding and first class venue, prominently situated on Poole Quay in Pooles’ “Old Town” at the junction of the High Street and the bustling Quayside.
Corkers is probably the longest established restaurant in Poole, being first created when part of the site was purchased by Louis Constandinos in 1944 at which time Poole Quay was a very commercial, working Quay. The original site where corkers stands today started life as a sweet shop/tobacconist/cafe. Much has happened to both Poole Quay and Corkers restaurant or the “Olympia Café" as it was then known.
The Olympia Cafe was re-modelled to create Corkers Restaurant in 1979/80 becoming a 2 tier Dining venue with Guest Accommodation on the 2nd floor offering fantastic views across Poole Harbour. The work was done under the supervision of the current proprietors Carolyn & Nick Constandinos and their team to offer the informal atmosphere of a Wine Bar and Cafe Bar on the ground floor with a Fine Dining A la Carte Restaurant on the 1st floor. Whether you drop in for a coffee and cake or join us in the restaurant the emphasis at Corkers restaurant has always been on excellent food in friendly, interesting & comfortable surroundings.
We offer a wide selection of seasonal menus both in the Cafe Bar and Restaurant with views over Poole Quay. You can see our current menus on our Corkers restaurant menus page.
Parties and special occasions are catered for and we are pleased to provide party menus on request. The café bar is licensed for 120 people.
